How do I maintain my aluminum gate, fence, or railing? Routine maintenance of lacquered aluminum consists of simply washing with water and a mild detergent (pH between 5 and 8), followed by rinsing with clean water and wiping with a soft, non-abrasive, absorbent cloth (abrasive sponges should be avoided). This operation should be performed 2 to 3 times a year depending on the aggressiveness of your environment. Make sure there are no areas where water can accumulate and that the drainage holes are clear.

The contemporary aluminum range is fully removable. We can therefore easily replace any part of your gate. You can contact your installer, who will request a repair quote from Maison Cadiou.

What is the warranty on Kostum's lacquer? The powder coating of our aluminum products is guaranteed for 30 years. Our powder coating is Qualicoat certified – Seaside Quality. 25-YEAR WARRANTY for aluminum products (gates, fences, railings): All our aluminum gates, fences, and railings are guaranteed for 30 years against any manufacturing defect or abnormal deformation. This warranty is granted subject to strict compliance with installation, storage, use, and maintenance conditions.

All our models are reinforced as standard to allow for later motorization by drilling and tapping. The location of the reinforcements varies according to the model. It is indicated in the technical description of each model. In addition, the location of the reinforcement is marked by a sticker on your gate.

Our swing and sliding gates, manual and motorized, are designed and manufactured for your safety in compliance with the European standard NF EN 13241-1. CE conformity has been awarded to us following tests and guarantees quality and consistency of manufacture. All our gates have a marking certifying compliance with this regulation. Our performance declarations are available on request. We recommend not operating our gates or wickets during windy periods. All our railings are designed and manufactured for your safety in compliance with standards NF P 01-012, NF P 01-013, and NF P 06-111-2/A1. Test trials have been validated by CEBTP. The glazing incorporated in our railings complies with DTU 39 and EN 356, which guarantee the residual stability of the glazing as well as the retention of the person at the origin of the breakage, thus preventing their fall.
